The Tel Aviv Port (Namal in Hebrew) is a great place to go on your weekends! While most of Tel Aviv restaurants and grocery stores remain open on Friday afternoon through Saturday (Shabbat), retail stores, pharmacies and the large open air Carmel Market, Shuk HaCarmel, are closed vis-a-vis theocratic decree. Enter the Tel Aviv Port - sort of a Red Light District for Israelis - but instead of sex clubs, there are cafes, restaurants, retail outlets, a pharmacy and a Shuk, a market. Such a moral decay will surely lead the chosen people to yet another exile you say!! Well, we should have fun in the mean time!
This Friday we saw a band playing music with the famous Israeli singer,
Laila Malcos. She sings Latin music in Spanish.
This grandma was having a great time dancing!

The Tel Aviv Port is still being built, but is much closer to being finished.
It has a beautiful boardwalk along the sea:
You can see the pristine Tel Aviv coastline:
It gets crowded on the weekends though:
Lots of planes fly by, landing at the nearby Sde-Dov airport:
Chutzpanim park their cars everywhere...
The Tel Aviv Port Market is mostly covered, located at the north end of the port:
It's called Shuk HaNamal in Hebrew:
The building is inspired by European closed roof markets like in Barcelona:
You can get fancy drinks there:

Olives are delicious in Israel!
Fresh Dolma- stuffed grape leaves, with rice peppers, etc. My wife refers to them as Zong Zi though.
